Katrina Aftermath                         

floods swell
corpses afloat
FEMA not to be seen
poorest evacuees left there
fearful
is this now a third world country?
where is the compassion?
all hands needed
rescue

sunshine                              
through the glass panes
faded seats and carpets
and nothing left to be salvaged
all spoilt

all spoilt
in the silver city of light
but resilience still remains
their spirit stays
sun shines
